My name is Katie Scott, I am a Maternity and Newborn Photographer serving the Bay Area and Central Valley. I have a studio here in the gorgeous Pleasanton, California where I have the pleasure of snuggling babies and capturing your families most precious moments. Top 5 things to bring to your newborn session
I have been getting a ton of messages lately asking the same question, "what should I bring to my newborn session?".
I wanted to compile this list of the best things I think parents have brought to their sessions. Now, if you book with me you already know I have all of the baby outfits, wraps, and props, and you probably already know how to prepare for your session from the guided blog post sent in your booking email, BUT I wanted to talk about things you might need during your session on hand.
- A pacifier! - A pacifier is a must to bring to your session to ensure your baby sleeps soundly and becomes quickly soothed during your newborn session.
- A blanket! - Bringing a baby blanket to your session will ensure baby stays nice and sleepy in between breaks when you feed. A warm and snuggly baby is a happy baby!
- A breastfeeding scarf. - We do have a changing room in studio where you can privately breastfeed, but if you would like added privacy or if you would like to privately feed in the main studio, I would suggest bringing something to breastfeed easily in studio.
- An iPad or phone with movies downloaded already! - Some parents get bored in the studio since a lot of the time you're just relaxing on the couch. I suggest downloading a movie or show to make the time quicker while your little gets pampered.
- Grooming items - We have baby brushes already here, but if you would like to bring your own baby's comb or brush and a lotion that works with their skin I encourage it!
